It's about 25 minutes before the Kohl Center darkens for the walk of champions and the wrestlers are getting restless.
A number of competitors in tonight's finals did leapfrogs over each other, down the three mats that will be used. It drew smiles from the wrestlers who took part and applause from the crowd starting to settle in. Perhaps it settled the nerves for the wrestlers who took part.
Brandon Garcia took part in the leap frogs, taking in all the experiences for a first-time state finalist.
A.J. Kissel watched and continued his pre-match routine.
The few minutes before the finals start is always intense. The WIAA runs a video of every qualifier as the athletes march in for the walk of champions. Even if you're not a wrestling fan, any fan of high school sports should experience it at least once.
